HISTORY:
From the founder, Roger Lewis: I started out in the days of the "Swinging Sixties" and London was quite a place to be. In those days we use to shoot catalog fashion shots with a 10x8 inch View camera, so the color transparency images would be the same size as the image on the catalog page, I have to tell you right now that took quite some doing.
I remember being set up for a shoot in Carnaby Street, in London's West End, my head was under the dark-cloth and I was almost standing on my head as the Image shows up side down on the screen, shooting four Fashion Models, when some 'trendy' guy tapped me on the shoulder and asked me if the camera was for real, I replied yes and got back under the dark-cloth. He then tapped me on my shoulder again and asked, did I used the old fashion flash powder tray, so to keep him happy I said yes and got back under the dark-cloth once more, again he tapped me on my shoulder and I said angrily, "WHAT" and he replied "Groovy man groovy"!
You know I use to be so nervous when I was shooting in public that I use to ask my assistant to keep the crowds away. But after a while and the fact I was shooting so many location assignments, I got quite use to it. In fact I use to play to the audience. On one occasion we turned up for a shoot on a cold winters day and the place was deserted, I turned to my assistant and said where's my audience, I can't work without my audience!
