I personally work better on an empty stomach and make up for lost time later. But as far as your Teen Model Girl goes, that may not be such a good thing. A brake for an ice cream and soda pop works miracles as it's not going to make her feel tired and may in fact perk her up a bit.

Always have on stand by, a cold box with cold drinks and if your near a beach cafe, all the better. I mention this, as often that's all it takes to save the day and get those great teen images.

Somebody asked me the other day, how many frames should you shoot of your Teen Beach Model and the answer to that is, as much as it takes to get the shot, at the same time remembering to stop shooting if the shot is not working out.

The single most important rule is simply to be adaptable, in other words while your working and you see something that looks good go for it, covering as many variations as you can, so when you make your selection later, your new idea comes to life.

On a previous page, I covered the idea that your best camera option would be a digital SLR camera and then you can shoot as many as your memory card or storage unit will allow, whereas with film you have to arrive to the limit of your budget. Another advantage using a digital camera is you don't have to open the camera back to insert a new film, trying to avoid sand and salt water getting in the back of the camera as well!

This is however, whare experience and time will tell you when you have got the shots you really want, keeping in mind if your working with a Teen Model, who may be a little inexperienced, the strain will begin to show if you insist on 'dragging' out the photo-shoot.

If your using a film camera, as many photographers still do, you must learn to discipline your available time, especially working on a Bikini Beach.

For example, It's a well know fact that a photographers best time for working on a Teen Beach location, or any outdoor location, is about two or three hours before sunset, or two or three hours after sunrise.

You will notice that most of my Images at the beach are shot late in the day before sunset, as this is just about the most "romantic" time of day whare the sunlight paints your picture in warm soft light with long shadows, often creating beautiful pictures, not 'snaps' in the harsh midday sun...

There are two very good reasons for this, first your trying to present you Teen Model or Model, looking at her best and secondly the high cost of a well known Model might well cripple you financially if you dont move a bit quicker.

What has this to do with your new Teen Model - Bikini Beach location shoot, well just about everything. She may be new and a little nervous. She's young and hasn't yet got the discipline or professionalism of older experienced models.
